Les Others are launching the 22nd volume of their magazine, as well as the first edition of their short film festival. An evening of screenings offering the chance to discover unique films that offer a fresh perspective on living things and landscapes.
This 22nd volume of Les Others is an invitation to poetic engagement. It creates a dialogue between major activist struggles and more subtle gestures, from the destruction of a dam to the observation of clouds. From the political to the personal, from the collective to the individual, this issue explores what links our struggles to the way we inhabit the world.
Since its inception, Les Others has sought to capture the unique emotion evoked by the great outdoors, not as a stage for performance, but as a source of culture and creativity. With this first edition of the Les Others Film Festival, the magazine extends this approach through a selection of documentaries and poetic fiction films that offer unique ways of understanding our relationship with nature.
At 9.00pm, three short films are screened:

Haulout (2022), Evgenia Arbugaeva and Maxim Arbugaev
On a remote stretch of the Siberian Arctic coastline, a man waits in a windswept hut for the annual gathering of walruses. But warming seas and rising temperatures are disrupting this natural phenomenon, revealing the impact of climate change on their habitat.

La Traversée Sagittaire (2026), Raphaëlle Damilano
During a mountaineering expedition in the Himalayas with her father and uncle, Raphaëlle Damilano sets out to climb a peak over 6,000 metres high. Following the death of her grandfather during the trip, she revisits the footage of this journey to explore her relationship with family, identity and what drives us to climb mountains.

Hivernage, Pierre-Antoine Amilhat
Invited by wildlife photographer Jérémie Villet, a young filmmaker travels to Japan to join him on an impromptu road trip through the snow-covered landscapes of the island of Hokkaido. He films Jérémie as he pursues his photographic quest, amidst silent hides, unexpected encounters and aimless journeys. As the journey unfolds, he discovers an elusive character, driven by an irrepressible need for movement and observation, and gradually allows himself to be swept up in his winter wanderings, without really knowing where they will lead them.
