For the first time in Paris, the Egyptian duo nasa4nasa presents an evening combining performance and cinema.
On the programme: the performance Promises, the screening of the video series Promises b2b[/i], and a film adaptation of their new piece Sham3dan[/i]. In Promises[/i], the choreography expresses a promise that remains unfulfilled. Slow, intense movements depict a delicate search for harmony, tenderness, disappearance and renewal, where every attempt at synchronisation seems destined to fail before being reborn. A moving exploration of our relationship with time, between waiting, repetition and the longing for togetherness. With Promises b2b[/i], the duo deepens this exploration through a series of videos featuring duet dances. The space between the bodies becomes a playground and a source of tension - a symmetry in motion, between connection and dissonance. Finally, Sham3dan[/i] takes us on a spellbinding choreographic journey inspired by Egyptian shamadan dance. Nine performers advance in balance, candlesticks on their heads, between popular traditions of the 1920s and contemporary gestures. Set to a soundtrack by Ismail Hosny, this piece depicts collective gravity, where shared movement becomes a form of silent resistance. The programme is presented in two identical sessions at 7pm and 8:30pm, to discover the duo's universe in an intimate atmosphere.
